Time Trap

Have you ever thought there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day? Do you wish could use have just 1 more hour? I know I certainly have!
Unfortunately there is no changing how many hours were allowed in a day, and no there isn't a 25 hour day.
So what can we do? We can change OURSELVES! Change the way we think, plan and organize our weeks.
The most common form of planning in our society is not to plan. Seems pretty backwards to me.

So what are some of the causes of wasting time?
Here are the top 5 time wasters of the average individual
1) Incomplete information to solve problems
2) Dealing with employee/employer/co-workers problems
3) Telephone calls and emails
4) Routine tasks
5) Meetings

Why do we get ourselves behind on time?
1) We try to do too much at once
2) We set unrealistic time estimates
3) Procrastination
4) Not fully listening to what it is we should be doing
5) Not saying NO

So what is the solution to our time trap?
1) Relate your tasks to your long term goals
2) Assign priorities based on importance over urgency
3) Schedule your routine tasks
4) Assessing your schedule - is it working or not?
5) Learn from past mistakes and success'

So there are a few examples of why we get behind and how you can improve but ultimately it comes down to being disciplined and taking the time to plan out your weeks and days.
